What is Maximo Monitor and how is it different from SCADA/historian?

SCADA and historian systems are systems of record for real-time control and raw time-series data — their job is to capture and display process data, not manage maintenance workflow. Maximo Monitor sits on top of that layer: it maps sensor tags to specific Maximo assets, applies maintenance-relevant thresholds and anomaly detection, and hands off into work management. Think of it as the translation layer between raw operational data and something a planner can act on.
